Dear Cowan Families,

Welcome to the start of a new school year at Cowan Fundamental!  I hope you have enjoyed some time relaxing and visiting with friends and family this summer. I want to take a moment to extend my warmest greetings and share some thoughts on the upcoming academic year.

We are a unique community of learners!  Each one of us has something that makes us special.  We come from different families, cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.  What we all have in common is being here, at Cowan to work, learn from each other, and grow into the best versions of ourselves. 

At Cowan Fundamental, we are committed to providing a well-rounded education that equips our students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world. As part of this commitment, we will continue to prioritize the subject of Math. Mathematics is not just a subject; it is a way of thinking and problem-solving that extends beyond the classroom. Through engaging lessons and activities, we will empower our students to embrace the challenges of Math and discover the joy of conquering new concepts.

Additionally, we will maintain our focus on our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. This initiative emphasizes the importance of creating a positive and inclusive school culture where students feel safe, respected, and valued. Our PBIS expectations, which promote responsibility, respect, and kindness, will guide students in making good choices and developing essential social and emotional skills.

To enhance the learning experience further, we have planned various enrichment activities, guest speakers, and PTC community events throughout the year. These opportunities will enable our students to explore their passions, discover new interests, and cultivate a sense of belonging within our school community.

As the principal of Cowan Fundamental, I am honored to work alongside our dedicated team of teachers and staff who are committed to providing the best possible education for your children. We value the partnership between home and school, and I encourage open communication between caregivers and teachers. Together, we can ensure the success of each student and foster a strong support system that helps them thrive academically and personally.

I would like to extend a special welcome to our new students and their families. We are delighted to have you join our Cowan community, and we are confident that you will find a warm and nurturing environment here.

Together, we will celebrate achievements, overcome challenges, and grow as a community. Remember that Cowan is a space and place where everyone belongs and everyone can learn and grow!  Let’s make it a great year together, Bobcats!
