Cowan Student Leadership is a team of student leaders who provide service to their school and their community. They lead by example of our PAWS expectations for our younger students and participate in various activities around campus and within our community.
Some examples of duties/activities include:
Organizing/running our annual Book Swap (evening event on campus)
Support PTC at school events
Helping during school assemblies
Making posters to hang around the school for events
Community donation events (canned food, school supplies, FACEmobile)
Cowan Bobcats love to play chess! Students begin learning to play the game in kindergarten when they’re paired with a fourth grade buddy and meet a couple times a month to play together. We also offer our afterschool chess club where students get a chance to play chess and compete in tournaments.
Our amazing PE teacher has created a marathon run club to help our students get their daily activity minutes in. Students get the opportunity to run every day and tally laps toward running a marathon over the course of the school year!
We’ve got four garden beds on our campus that are tended by various classes and community members. This gives our students a unique opportunity to see where their food comes from and try new foods!
Over the years Cowan students have enjoyed participating in our Band, Choir and Theater programs! This year (2025-2026) we're thrilled to put on a school musical through our after school theater program!
Cowan loves STEM! Our library offers an awesome makerspace complete with materials to be used in various projects and building challenges, encouraging creative and collaborative learning!
